This year, we have a special challenge for the little (and big!) artists: transforming egg boxes into beautiful hand-painted surprise boxes.
With a bit of imagination, paintbrushes and a lot of fun, you can give new life to boxes that normally get thrown away. Once they’ve been decorated, all you have to do is fill them with little surprises – from sweets to special messages or small gifts – and give them to those you love the most. They’re perfect for giving to family and friends this Easter!
Shall we get to work?
WHAT YOU NEED: Empty egg boxes (preferably cardboard) Acrylic or gouache paints Brushes of different sizes Raffia for stuffing Small treats to put inside (chocolate eggs, messages, small toys, etc.)
HOW TO MAKE: Clean the egg carton thoroughly, removing any residue.
Apply a coat of white paint to even out the surface. Leave to dry completely before proceeding.
Paint the box with the colours and patterns you prefer: flowers, bunnies, eggs, etc.
Use fine brushes for details and larger brushes for larger areas.
Put small gifts inside the box.
