I chose this illustration I did for the second boo I chose this illustration I did for the second book in the ‘Alerta Emoções’ collection because motorhomes always remind me of holidays. And that’s what we’re all dreaming about right now!🌞 So here it is... The magical motorhome, with the three brothers and Sempreu the hedgehog, this time helping a girl who wanted to be invisible. I can't find better words than those of @sararodi.oficial to sum up this story: "The book is about self-esteem, bullying and the power of words - at a time when they are so often used to hurt, incite hatred or revolt. Can we fix the world with the right words? Perhaps only in a utopia. But we can't give up trying. The Good Words Movement will reach schools next year, but we hope it will also reach many families, many neighbourhoods, many sports clubs, our hospitals, our companies, our political leaders. At the last @bazaranoite , I brought something ver At the last @bazaranoite , I brought something very special with me: my illustrated mini-dioramas: tiny boxes containing hand-cut scenes made from recycled materials and painted with natural pigments.🌿 Until now, I’ve been creating larger dioramas (some of which I’ve shared here), but for this market, I thought it would be fun to create small versions of these little worlds that could fit in the palm of your hand. The reaction from those who personally saw the real items couldn’t have been better and many people asked me if they would be available online.🤗 The answer is yes, they’re on their way to the shop! I haven’t listed them yet because it’s been a challenge to juggle several creative projects at the same time. Everything takes time and care, and  it's hard to find room  to properly update the shop. But I’m slowly organizing things so that you will soon be able to see (and purchase 😁) each of them online, wherever you are. I’ll be sharing more updates here soon. What a beautiful evening it was.✨ Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, supported our work or simply said hello. Your presence meant the world to us! Truly.💝 It was even more special to be there side by side with my daughter @mariaresina.pt, each of us with our hands full of what we love creating.🤗 Every kind word, every little piece that found a new home, it all stays with us. Aquele passeio entre livros, cheios de promessas, aventuras e mundos por descobrir, sempre me fez sentir em casa. Mas, este ano, foi diferente. Mais intenso, mais especial, mais bonito.  O segundo volume da coleção "Alerta Emoções", escrito pela @sararodi.oficial e ilustrado por mim, foi apresentado, na companhia da sempre inspiradora @marianaalvim e da nossa incrível editora @alfmaduro da @oficinadolivro @leya_portugal Houve autógrafos, abraços, sorrisos e muitos momentos especiais com quem por lá passou. Recebemos tanto carinho e ouvimos palavras tão bonita. Foi mesmo emocionante.  As crianças têm sempre uma maneira única (e deliciosa!) de expressar o que sentem e pensam. Ouvir as suas partilhas sobre os livros e sobre as emoções foi a cereja no topo do bolo. E também um lembrete do porquê de fazermos isto. I've been postponing this experience for a long ti I've been postponing this experience for a long time... Beetroot has a beautiful colour, but it's very unstable - when exposed to light and time, it ends up turning a greyish-brown shade that's no good at all.😕 I had some beetroot that had spoiled in the fridge and, as food waste is one of the things that I find most distressing, I decided to turn this ‘rubbish’ into colour. I used citric acid to help stabilise it and I'm going to paint it directly as a liquid watercolour, without drying it in pigment. I've decided to make some drawings in the sketchbook, colour them in with a few strokes and see how it progresses on paper, away from direct light. I'm also going to colour in a few full sheets and then digitise them to use in some digital illustration. In this case, I don't have to worry about fixing the colours, as they'll stay forever on the computer.🙂 It's always a huge challenge not knowing how natural dyes will evolve, but there's also something marvellous about them being ephemeral and unpredictable! If you want to try it out in a quick and simple way, just grind some beetroot in a blender, add a few drops of lemon, qb water and paint away!🧡 .  .  .  .  #naturalpigments #slowillustration #childrenillustration #creativewithnature #organicart #monochromesketch #naturalwatercolour
